Cambodia Received More Than 360,000 Tourists in the Third Week of February

PHNOM PENH: In the third week of February, Cambodia recorded more than 360,000 tourists visiting different locations across the country.

According to a report from the Ministry of Tourism, between 12-19 February 2023, the country recorded a total of 360,135 tourists, of which 313,682 were locals, and 46,453 were foreigners.

The main tourist destinations were Tbong Khmum, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Kampot, Kampong Cham, Battambang, Svay Rieng and Sihanoukville provinces.

Sihanoukville received the highest number of tourists, recording 72,056 visitors.

The Ministry of Tourism has noted that the flow of domestic tourists continues to show positive signs of growth. This week saw 360,000 tourists travelling across Cambodia, while last week a total of 290,000 national and international tourists were recorded.

There has also been a steady influx of international tourists in early 2023, especially as China finally reopened its borders and began allowing its citizens to travel abroad. Sihanoukville received its first flight from China on the morning of 27 January 2023, carrying 104 tourists and a flight crew of six.
